How to announce your launch without sounding like an ad

2026-10-03 · 4 min read

Launches that read like advertisements get scrolled past. Launches that read like the end of a story get shared.

Start with the problem

Say what annoyed you or what you wanted to exist. One honest sentence beats a list of features.

Say what it does

Describe the main thing it does for someone, in plain words, with a link they can click right now.

Tell part of the build story

  • How long it took.
  • What was harder than expected.
  • How AI helped and where you had to step in.

Show it

A screenshot or a short video of it working is worth more than paragraphs.

Make one clear ask

Try it and tell me what is confusing. One request is easier to answer than three.

Mark it as a milestone

In your build log, move the project to live and mark the entry as a milestone, so anyone reading the log from the beginning arrives at the launch.

Keep your own build log

Write numbered entries, follow other builders, and let people watch your idea become real.
