How to find someone to build your AI project with
Most people look for someone to build with by asking strangers. It works better to show what you are building and let the right person recognise it.
Know what you actually need
Be specific. Design, backend, marketing, or someone to push you to ship? A clear gap is easier to fill than a vague wish for a partner.
Make the work visible first
People join projects that are already moving. A public build log shows progress, taste and consistency. It answers most of a stranger’s doubts before you speak.
Say who you are looking for
Write one sentence describing the person you need and what they would do. On vibFolio a project can mark itself as open to builders, which puts it in front of people who want to join.
Start with something small
- Ask them to write one entry or fix one thing.
- See how you work together before giving anyone a big role.
- Agree on who decides what.
What to look for
- A history of shipping, even small things.
- Clear, honest communication.
- A skill you do not have.
- Similar pace and appetite for risk.
Writing the first message
Mention something specific from their work, say what you are building in one line, and ask one clear question. Short messages get answered.
Keep your own build log
Write numbered entries, follow other builders, and let people watch your idea become real.
